Installing DLC
Place DLC in the right content directories and make sure the console recognizes it.
Downloading your DLC
- Starting off you need to acquire your DLC files, a quick Google search and you can find archives
You can also use something like xbPirate to download DLC from the Xbox Marketplace, but note that a lot of games and DLC have been delisted.
- We are going to be using Borderlands as an example
- Download your DLC and extract the zip, it should be a folder with the title id
a title id should look something like 415608c3
Adding the files to your flash drive
- Insert your flash drive into your computer
Or, if you are using an RGH console, connect to FTP.
- Find the content folder and open it
- You should see the folder labeled 0000000000000000
- Drag the game id folder into the 0's folder, if it asks to replace anything click yes, let the files upload
Confirming the DLC in Aurora
- You can also do this on the MS dash if you don't use Aurora by going to:
- Settings
- Storage
- Where you store your DLC, so either USB or hard drive
- Games and apps
- Whatever game you are adding DLC for
- And you should see the DLC there
- Boot BadAvatar and open Aurora
- Go to the game you added the DLC for, but don't open it.
- Press Y go to the controller symbol and press left on the D pad
- You should see it say DLC at the bottom press A,
- You should see your DLC.
- After that, make sure your game is up to date.
- If you don't see your DLC, make sure you enabled auto scan for managed paths.
- Also make sure you added your Content folder as a managed path by going to Aurora Home, pressing Start, opening Content, and clicking Add under Managed Paths.
Confirming the console thinks you own them
- Before you play the game with DLC, make sure the DLC is set as "owned."
- Next we are going to download XM360
- Extract the zip
- Add it to your flash drive where you store your apps
- Or if using an RGH console connect to FTP and store the files where you store your apps
- In Aurora press select
- If you don't use Aurora as your main dash, download XeXmenu and drag the Content folder inside the zip to the root of your flash drive.
- Go to my games and apps if your on the MSdash and open XeXmenu
- Press RB to switch drives, go to your flash drive, navigate to your XM360 files, and open XM360.xex.
- File manager
- And navigate to where your XM360 is
- Open XM360.xex
- On the left press show DLC
- You should see the tab "have some DLC" find the game with your DLC
- Once found, the right side should show the DLC for the game.
- The lock will either be unlocked or locked. If it is unlocked, the DLC is ready to go.
- If not, press Unlock DLC on the left side. This will set the DLC as purchased for the game. You can then boot your game and you are good to go.
